Dr. Jefferson’s current research focuses on asthma and health disparities. She has a special interest in population health, health policy, and social determinants impacting asthma outcomes. She is PI on a multidisciplinary team of researchers. She is also active in clinical trial work and co-investigator in the NIH-funded Systemic Allergic Reactions to SARS-CoV-2 Vaccination study investigating allergic reactions to mRNA COVID-19 vaccines. Dr. Jefferson is also a junior investigator in the NIH-funded IDeA States Pediatric Clinical Trials Network (ISPCTN).
