Destiny F. Chau, MD, is a Professor of Anesthesia in the UAMS College of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology, Division of Pediatric Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, practicing at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Chau received her undergraduate degree from West Virginia University Institute of Technology. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, where she also completed a residency in anesthesiology.  Dr. Chau then did a Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Dr. Chau joined the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Cardiac Anesthesia Team in January 2020.  She is board certified in Pediatric Anesthesia and by the American Board of Anesthesiology.  She is a member of the Arkansas Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Academy of Pediatrics, Fellow – Section on Anesthesiology, the American Society of Professionals in Patient Safety, the Congenital Cardiac Anesthesiology Society, Society of Pediatric Anesthesiologists, and the American Society of Anesthesiologists.  She is the Pediatric Anesthesia Research Interest Group coordinator and the Fellowship Program Director for the Pediatric Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellow program.  Her research interests include a wide variety of subjects, including post-anesthetic care of pediatric patients, operative anesthetic considerations for adults with congenital heart disease, and pediatric patient blood management safety.
