Dr. Richard Jackson is a Professor of Surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He works in the division of pediatric surgery at Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Dr. Jackson graduated from West Virginia University School of Medicine in 1983. He completed his general surgery residency at West Virginia University. He went on to complete fellowships in Pediatric Trauma, Critical Care and Pediatric Surgery at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. He holds board certification in critical care, general surgery and pediatric surgery.

Dr. Jackson has co-authored over 50 articles, a book chapter and given multiple local and national presentations on pediatric surgical topics. He is a member of many professional societies including the American College of Surgeons, Children's Oncology Group – Surgical Section, Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, and the American Pediatric Surgical Association.
