After being referred from a primary care doctor, the Cardiology Clinic at Arkansas Children's is usually the first stop for children with suspected or known heart problems. Our board-certified cardiologists provide compassionate care to children of all ages. Our experienced team of cardiologists is here to provide hope and healing to the tiniest of hearts.
During clinic visits, we offer non-invasive procedures to help identify problems including:We offer several clinics within The Heart Institute including: Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic, Cardio Neurodevelopmental Clinic, Electro-physiology Clinic, Fetal Clinic, Heart Failure/Cardiomyopathy Clinic, Pacemaker Clinic, and Transplant Clinic.
Note: This clinic is available to your child by physician referral. Talk with your child's physician and tell him/her you would like to be referred to Arkansas Children's. Have the doctor contact the Appointment Center to make a referral at 501-364-4000. If your child does not have a regular physician, please call 501-364-4000 and we will be happy to recommend one in your area.
Before leaving home, please make sure you bring a list of you or your child's (the patient's) medications including medication name, dosage and how often it's taken. After registering at the front desk, you'll be asked to complete a medical history form and insurance paperwork. A nurse will call you to the exam room, where height, weight and blood pressure will be taken. Then one of our cardiologists will meet with you to go over family health history and perform a physical exam.
