Electromyography  (EMG)

An electromyography (EMG) is a test used to determine the electrical activity of the muscle at rest and when the muscle is used.  An EMG is used to help find neuromuscular abnormalities. Small needles called electrodes are inserted through the skin and into the muscle to perform the exam.
